Professor is a motor building expert whose experience goes back to the 60’s. He has worked to gain a reputation for getting it right the first time. He is familiar with all of the Harley motors; stock and modified both period and modern.
Professor initially started by working on Triumphs in the 60's while he attended LSU. His first motorcycle was a1952 custom Triumph, which he still has and plans to restore one day. Shortly after, he acquired a 1966 XLCH which turned his mechanical interest to Harleys. In the 70’s, he picked up some additional expertise while doing mechanical work at the Harley Davidson dealership in Baton Rouge. His motorcycle collection continued to grow with a Panhead chopper and even a custom trike. His degree took him into the teaching profession for 15 years, but he continued to ride, collect, and build bikes. In the early 80’s he quit teaching and opened his own motorcycle shop; Professor’s Cycle Products, Inc.
In the mid 80’s, Professor gained invaluable knowledge from competing in the Harley Drag Race Association. Several of his bikes held national records for many years, the experience instilled into him the concept of paying great attention to every detail.
With the help of his wife Michele, he operated Professor's Cycle Products for 25 years. During this time he built countless motors for his customers all across the south. Since retiring from the daily operations of running a business, he now has more time to devote to his true passion; mechanical and machine work.
